Artful
in its soft demureness,
pink pretends
a lack of sureness,
but I see
its aery blush
as preternatural
victory flush:
Ceres’ triumph
everlasting,
winter’s death grip
counterblasting.

Beautiful. Even when the blooms fall to the ground, they are still beautiful. 🙂 We are suppose to have some sun today and tomorrow, but in general we’re having gray, gloomy, rainy days. Yuck!

YUCK indeed! Spring really has to fight to keep hold! It’s pretty much the same here — back and forth between dark and sunshine, but way too much dark and not enough sunshine! I agree that those pink blooms are lovely even as they come down. We don’t have pink trees here yet, but it won’t be long (she said optimistically).

Preternatural indeed. I would agree pink pretends a lack of sureness – this is more of a roar than a blush.

“Roar” is good. Pink ought never be underestimated!
