Tweet and Twang, that musical twosome,
plucked and chirruped night and noonsome.
The gig was good if slightly chilly,
and Tweet’s grace notes were most untrilly.
Twang turned to Tweet: “You’re sounding gruesome.”
“Push in!” Twang grumbled, “Your flute is flat!
I’ve perfect pitch — you know that!”
Unflappable Tweet, calm, demure,
never changing his embouchure,
was wishing for a coat and hat.

Well done Maureen. I love the witty exchange between tweet and twang and your use of fabulous words (embouchure) to describe the playing of instruments. Great fresh take on this door and its “guardian” musicans.

Thanks, Suzette! What seemed to me to be a look on one cherub’s face gave way to a bit of a chuckle. I had to do something with it!

Most excellent! That’s what creating is all about, doing something with that spark that comes from sometimes unexpected images/places.

I agree that that spark jumps out most unexpectedly at times, but then, when I look for it, it hides!

Yes, I know that part too…the hiding…lol~

Perfect Maureen. Yeah, I’m thinking both Tweet and Twang are a bit chilly! I hope on their next gig they get better seating arrangements!

Oh, me too! A little softer, a little warmer. It’s a heck of a perch for a musician! Thanks, Ginger!

Hilarious and wonderful, Maureen. When there are no spectators, I could picture Tweet and Twang having this conversation.

I really have an urge to put hoodies on them to warm them up! And, yes, it’s easy to imagine what they say to each other (about US) when they’re alone!

Handsome photo with lovely words. I have to admit, as I scrolled down and saw those shrubs, that’s all I could concentrate on for a minute while thinking about how they trimmed them. Then I went back and read for a second time so I could fully appreciate the banter. 🙂

Ah, the gardener’s eye — it’s always working! Yes, those are some handsome specimens. Actually, it’s a cool door picture, but then the parts of it kind of break out — like musicians and formal shrubbery. Thanks, Judy!

I imagine it could get a little chilly…and I’m sure they have their banter and music to a formula after all those years guarding the door. (K)

What my grandpa called “a steady job.” Yes, with well-rehearsed banter!

This was so much fun, Maureen. I love the conversation. I hope someone wraps them up at night. Congratulations, this is our 60th entry.

Thanks, Dan, and congratulations to you too! 60!! That is a lot of work on your part — but then you knew that!

I did. I am surprised and impressed and grateful – phew!
