The New knocks,
” I’m here! Let me in!”
“Not by the hair
on my chinny chin chin,”
says solid Old,
in gouty fright,
scared to open,
dead bolt tight.
And thus does New
in resignation
abide in patient
occupation,
until the ponderous
cautious Old
can’t stand not knowing
what the unopeneds hold.

Maureen this is pure genius! Your story and Lois’ door photo are a match made in online shopping! I love this. Thank YOU for spotlighting “The Three Little Pigs”.

A match made in online shopping, no less! What perfection! I’ll bet Lois laughs too! Thanks, Ginger — and it’s good to know that others remember those little pigs.

Maureen–this is so good! The Three Little Pigs–I would never have thought to put them together with this photo, but darn! It works! You did great. Thank you for this. 🐷🐷🐷

Thanks, Lois! Isn’t it interesting to see how these photos give way to words — or emojis, as the case may be!

It is fascinating! I looked at all the door photos and was amazed at the entries this year. But did words pop into my head? Negative.

I suspect they are in there somewhere! Maybe you should try a Brownie Lasagna to unlock them.

Good one! You wove the past and the present together and brought a smile. Applause and Happy Mother’s Day! Hope someone makes you a delicious dessert. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, Judy! Happy Mothers’ Day to you too! I think it quite appropriate that we pull all kinds of muscles patting ourselves on the back. We gave the world some good ones!

Well done, Maureen. That’s a great poem for Lois’ photo. We have one house on our street where boxes sit at the door for days. I wonder if this is why.

Thanks, Dan. Now we will all wonder about that house on your street.

I must confess that when it comes to AI and half a hundred other newfangled things, I’m that door. Thanks, Kerfe!
