Summer roars
its final word,
the likes of which
eye never heard,
majestic booming
portraiture,
October’s 1812
Overture.

This is a beauty, isn’t it? A good fall day to you, too, Judy!

I love the words you chose to accompany that beautiful tree. This is my favorite season, and I enjoy finding new ways to appreciate it. I hope you’re having a nice week.

Thanks, Dan! Autumn is my favorite, too, though right now we’ve got a case of the autumn dismals. Trees like this one really light up the world, don’t they?

They do. We don’t see many around here that turn that color, but I try to get a photo of them when I do.

The musical reference is very apt. There’s nothing subtle about this tree – it makes subtlety seem overrated. I imagine the light is looking down in envy of the majestic booming and wishing it didn’t need to be switched on to shine.

Oh, nice! Yes, I like that thought that the light is looking down in envy. And, yes, subtlety can be overrated — just ask any maple in October!
