  1. I bet there’s a ‘lotta’ something else deposited on the grass by the armada. πŸ™‚ They are like deer, rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks – cute to think about but challenging to live with. Happy Wednesday, and watch where you walk. πŸ™‚

    • You got that right — it’s a whole other version of “Tiptoe through the tulips”! But I’m so busy dodging cicadas that it’s hard to watch where to put my feet. “Challenge” indeed!

  2. An armada indeed! That’s quite the fleet! Do the geese eat the cicadas?

    • That’s a good question, and I watch to try to figure out. I think so. The goslings seem to stick to greens, but I think the grown-ups do go for the cicadas, though perhaps only for the sheddings. Either way, YUCK. I think most of the birds (robins and such) go for the cicadas too, but there aren’t enough birds in the universe to make a dent in these swarms — they are DREADFUL. This is one June I want to go quickly!

  3. Shamefully clever and hangdog… loved it
