Beyond the budded lattice,
creamy cloud,
impermanent
as strawberries.
Is it my fault, dear reader, that such a cloud makes me think of
strawberry shortcake?

By fault no, by character and inclination, most certainly yes. I see a heaven-sized elephant’s foot (choux bun). Can we agree the trees are trying to eat whatever confectionary it is?

Oooh, a heaven-sized choux bun! Every bit as good as the shortcake! What wonders we can see if we know how to look! I had had a fleeting impression that the trees were reaching for it, yes. Most unsettling.

Yes, we don’t want them getting in first.

Exactly. However, I’d let them have first dibs if they agreed to share. What an image!

Strawberry shortcake comes to mind whenever one sees strawberries, trees, clouds or whatever. It’s not your fault. 🙂 Did you read Dan’s blog today about the verse block? You might want to check it out.

That got a good guffaw from me. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one. Of course I am flexible and am willing to see Susan’s elephant’s foot pastry just as well. A verse block! Thank you — I’ll try to check that out!
