November 8.20: Coping

silk road,

where some fragment of soul

follows the bright water,

trading calumny of day

for the horizon

of a lavender night

and pillow’d dreams.

With more thanks to photographer S.W. Berg,

and with wishes that my tired country

can find peace within itself.

  1. Lovely and very important words for all of us. Happy Sunday, Maureen, and thank you.

    • Thanks, Judy. As they say in “Fiddler on the Roof,” Good Sabbath! I think everyone on the planet, and certainly everyone in this country, needs some kind of sabbatical. We need to catch our breath. Taking a little time for celebratory chocolate would be appropriate, I think.

  2. Thank you. And AMEN indeed.

  3. Yes, lovely words that indeed reflect the peace and hope in my fragment of soul now that the calumny of the pre-election months is over.

  4. Amen. Although many here are rejoicing that Biden and Harris have won the election.

    • Hi, Shirah! That’s very interesting about sentiments there. Feelings are strong on all sides. I am really holding my breath over the possibility of violence.
