October 10.20: Coping

If ever a bird harrumphed

and cast a glowering eye,

this fellow of coal feather

is that imprecatory guy,

in body language eloquent,

proclaiming clear disdain

for the species that presumes

to call him a birdbrain.

More thanks to photographer S.W. Berg

and, of course, to the crow.

  1. We were talking about these guys today because there were a half a dozen or more in the next door neighbor’s yard. Where do they come from and what are they looking for. Maybe they’re trying to figure out the meaning of life in 2020. Hope they leave us a note when they figure it out. 🙂

    • This guy landed on Bill’s car (the photographer). I’ll have to ask Bill if a note was left on his windshield; they can’t be any more clueless than the rest of us! Thanks for the Saturday laugh, Judy!

  2. I agree with the bird. They one of many creatures that are much brighter than we give them credit for. It may be lucky there was no note left. I’m speculating this one is a traffic warden and that it judges the car to be on the wrong side of the traffic cone in the background.
