I escaped into the garden,
a news-free calming spot,
to check on season’s progress
in every nook and pot.
Imagine my excitement
at this discovery;
I’m thrilled with its new life
but no idea what it might be.
Do you know, dear reader?
Is there any chance this could be the scabiosa that jumped into my cart last year?

Nope, it’s not scabious, unless it is wearing a leafy disguise. Scabious has ruffle edged leaves, these are smooth.

I’m disappointed it’s not the scabiosa, but I’m glad to know what it’s not because that might help me think what it is. Thanks!

We’ll have a better idea when it gets a bit bigger.

Yes, we need a few more leaves to tell, but it’s definitely a sign of spring which is good for the body and the soul. 🙂

Amen to that!
