In hue of bark and twig,
still as sleeping tree,
a green-eyed watch is kept
almost invisibly.
Though soft in feathered tunic
pied with snowy white,
the razor of his purpose
cannot be hid from sight.

Looking at this photo caused me to think how they wear the same ‘clothing’ year round regardless of weather. Pretty interesting when you think about it. 🙂

You’re right — and they seem to blend in no matter what the season. I can’t help hoping that this guy and his cousins will help the chipmunks and rabbits decide to move to a different neighborhood.
