Quo vadis?
In pools of shade
in flutters of green wings
in columned seclusion
the question:
where are you going?
The hard grey path
inquires.
You do not escape
life questions
in the woods.
Thanks yet again to photographer S.W. Berg.

This reminds me of that old movie, City Slickers – what is the meaning of life. 🙂 I’m still trying to figure that out. 🙂

The green wings and columns make this a natural cathedral, perfect for contemplation. I couldn’t help thinking that all the many ancient paths in our woods (and there are many well-trodden ones) lead to a place of work, of worship, to a pub or, more likely, all three.

I’d call that balanced living: work, worship, pub. Yes, I can imagine the paths there as ancient — here, not so much. Still they speak of other feet.
