When orange lights on lavender,
it lacks in subtlety,
grandiose theater
its winged proclivity.
It urgently upstages
in drama quintessential,
pageant symbiotic,
brilliant, existential.
National Pollinator Week, June 17-23
More thanks to photographer S.W. Berg,
and to the pollinators — may we bless and keep them!

A perfect post for Pollinator Week.

Thank you! (I like your alliteration!)

Two butterflies – you outdid yourself on this Pollinator Week. Yeah, Maureen! 🙂

Thank you! Bill sent his photo just a few days ago, and he couldn’t have timed it better! The header is mine, though, taken last summer, when I had a glorious zinnia patch.

Wow, that header photo of yours is great!

Thanks! I was very grateful to that butterfly for his pose!

Hear, hear. Of course I had to click through to see your beautiful butterfly header after reading your comment.

I’m glad you did — what magnificence can be found in a small garden, yes?
June 21, 2019 at 3:44 pm
Yes, though I have never seen such a beauty in mine. We do have some small black and red moths this year in residence. I wish moths ate greenflies!
June 21, 2019 at 3:46 pm
I don’t know what greenflies are, but I suspect they are as welcome to you as rabbits are to me.
June 25, 2019 at 2:47 pm
You may know them as aphids. They are not at all welcome.
June 25, 2019 at 3:22 pm
Yes, aphids I know. Unfortunately.
