September 3.18

A kid with a cone

in raspberry shoes

teaches a lesson

we can all use:

know your priorities

focus, be serious

(a chinload of ice cream

is not deleterious);

practice makes perfect

as life goes along —

if you’re not getting sticky,

you’re doing something wrong.

I don’t know who took this picture, but I know that’s Emmy braving the hard work

of learning how to eat an ice cream cone. Sometimes work is indeed its own reward.

Happy Labor Day, dear reader!

  1. Oh, this is a lovely holiday photo. πŸ™‚ Ice cream up here is an interesting topic. They close from October to May first off, and, the vast majority sell a cone of ice cream for $4 that is the same ice cream you can buy at the grocery store. That bums me out. So, we drive to a neighboring town where they make their own – worth the drive. πŸ™‚ Have a great Monday.

    • I’m so glad you see this as a holiday photo — I did too! I’m with you on the matter of the $4 ice cream cone with grocery-store ice cream. We have a fabulous homemade ice cream shop here, and it’s open 365 days a year, which is my idea of ice cream season! A happy Monday to you too, Judy!

  2. Happy Labor Day. I’ve seen signs of a fair few people losing ice-cream this summer, so the effort in concentration is worthily expended.
