Dear reader,
Something weird started yesterday: I couldn’t write a post with a photo in it. It goes without saying that I have no idea what’s going on, but I can’t help wondering if a very recent Windows update messed up something with WordPress. Like I know what I’m talking about.
I can write a post without photos, apparently, but I’ve grown to love the photo as prompt (thanks, Tamara!) and, besides, there’s a matter of principle involved when we want the computer to do something and it won’t. I want to know what’s up with this. I’m miffed. So there will be a slight sabbatical here while I work on a more colorful vocabulary and try to figure this out.

Well, now, that’s a bummer. I can write a post with photos, but have to remember to clear pages and pages of erroneous code before I hit publish. WordPress hasn’t been able to figure out why so my only option is to remember to spend five minutes deleting it every time. Here’s hoping your is something simpler and it can be worked out quickly. 🙂

Really? You have to delete code before you publish? And they don’t know why? That is discouraging; I was hoping those WordPress folks knew everything. The rest of life is bewildering enough; our blog should be simple. So say I.

I certainly agree with you. I do the two blogs and have to remember to delete that darn code on both of them, and I’m talking sitting her and scrolling page after page after page. WordPress was responsive, I’ve corresponded with over a dozen of their folks, tried everything they suggested, and nothing works except deleting it by hand. 😦

I had the same thing a while ago, Judy. Bizarrely, my problem seemed to be related to something completely separate that I had downloaded from Pinterest that let me pin from around the internet. When I deleted the Pinterest thing the problem stopped happening – it seems to have created some kind of conflict. If you have something from Pinterest installed on the computer you use for WordPress, you could try deleting that and see if it makes a difference.

I asked WordPress about that because ‘save’ is something you see with regard to Pinterest. Yes, I use the same computer for both. Maybe I can try deleting the pin I have and see if that makes any difference. Thank you!!

Even though I know nothing about Pinterest and haven’t the foggiest idea what you and Susan are talking about, I can’t wait to hear if “deleting the pin” solves your problem.

Well, I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but I deleted my Pin button and completed the post this morning with zero additional code to delete. Susan rocks!

Indeed she does!

I searched for ‘remove the Pinterest extension’ and followed the instructions. Good luck!

There is another blogger who is having the same issue so I’m going to share your info with her. I took my pin off last night and am working on a post. So far, fingers crossed, I’m not seeing the extra code. THANK YOU. ❤️

Fingers crossed here, too!

I’ve noticed a long column of “SaveSave” in your posts; as I recall, it comes between your post and the comments section. I wonder if that’s related to your deletes.

How frustrating! Have you tried contacting their support people? I have found them very helpful. I’m sending my best wishes for a speedy resolution.

Thanks! No, I haven’t yet contacted their support, but I do intend to. In the past, I’ve learned from their answers to other people’s questions, so I have hope.
