A frilly dot of marigold
a snip of lemon thyme
a dainty plume of tarragon
phlox snow at fragrant prime
radiant brown-eyed Susans
Rudbeckia at the crown:
smallness revels in itself
sans the world’s renown.

My phlox get powdery mildew every single year, but I just can’t get rid of them. My grandmother grew them, and I smile and think of her every time I look at them. 🙂

Exactly! Mine get the same mildew, but they are essential to the garden for the memories they bring. Not to mention they smell heavenly!
