Connections: April 13.17

The moment of truth will come

whether house keys or iPad or gum

though we mutter and swear

“It’s in here somewhere”

we only come up with alluvium.

  1. As I continue to ‘mature,’ I am very particular about my purse. For the past five or six years, I’ve favored Baggallini because it has hooks inside. I then add additional hooks so I can hook my car keys, camera bag and my wallet, and I can’t leave them anywhere. But, I’m still always looking for something else and swearing at the various pockets because I can’t find it. I usually end up dumping it on the island and fishing through everything. I feel her pain. 🙂 And, thanks for the new word because I had to look alluvium up. 🙂 In case the thought crosses your mind, no, I don’t change purses anymore like I did in the old days. Too confusing to find anything then. 🙂

    • Oh, thank you! I love the image of all the hooks! In theory, the perfect organizers. I sympathize — and empathize — with those special words for venting at the pockets, which are obviously in conspiracy against us. Changing purses? We really did that, didn’t we? That was another life. “Alluvium” is good, isn’t it? For me, it perfectly describes what I’ve found at the bottom of my purses.
