Connections: January 8.17

“A certain age” describes me

with barely nuanced humor

and progressively more “certain”

older than Baby Boomer.

Deemed unworthily cool

I was Elvis-entwined

but I wasn’t born on his

HE was born on MINE.

You may give thanks, dear reader, that I never learned how to scan on this machine.

Else you’d have to look at baby pictures.

  1. Happy birthday, Maureen! Hope you have a lovely day. That’s a beautiful cake, by the way, and I for one would love to see some baby pictures!

  2. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday, Maureen, Happy Birthday to you. And, you should be glad I’m typing and not singing. 🙂 I love birthday cake with lots of frosting and that looks like it meets the bill. Have an extra piece for me please. 🙂

    • I am sure your rendition of the birthday song is the song of the nightingale. But I’ll take it either way. Thank you! You are so right about birthday cake with frosting: if it isn’t revoltingly sweet then it isn’t a real birthday cake. I will force myself to have an extra piece for you.

  3. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Maureen! I hope you’ve had a great day, and enjoy a wonderful year ahead on your next trip around the sun!

    • Thanks, Bonny! I have always loved birthdays, and the more of them I have the more I feel they do kind of push us off into that “next trip around the sun.” Also the more birthdays I have the more I need that push!
