Connections: December 17.16

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERABefore I got it opened

it had begun to grow

an intestine-like appendage

with phosphorescent glow.

How gross! I said

Why couldn’t it wait?

What kind of triage?

Am I too late?

Desperate, despondent

I tucked it in a pot

gave it winter sun

and apologized a lot.

Now regarding coolly

my mayhem and my mess

it glories in its own

single-mindedness.

  1. Beautiful bloom that I’m sure is appreciated this time of year. 🙂

  2. Gorgeous! I don’t think I’ve ever seen amaryllis blossoms in that lovely pink hue. I’m always amazed that they can produce such spectacular blooms, sometimes even without benefit of leaves!

    • It is an amazing color, isn’t it? And “spectacular” is the exact word for the amaryllis bloom. This one does have some baby leaves, but they are struggling. Apparently the flowers decided to go ahead without them.
