  1. I can imagine the redolence of your kitchen from your words and photo, and think the ancient tools are often the best ones for the job. May your pickles be crisp, crunchy, and delicious!

  2. I love the older tool because they are usually better built and sturdier. 🙂 Now that I have the positive out of the way, it also reminded me that although I LOVE cucumbers and pickles that fresh cucumbers are causing me heart burn as I move along this aging cycle. I absolutely love them but sure don’t enjoy the six antacids I need after I eat them. I keep hoping maybe it will be different next year. 🙂

    • My sympathies! And empathies too. This aging business brings a lot of surprises when it comes to eating and drinking. This I know. I might not be able to eat many of these pickles myself, but they sure do dress up the refrigerator!

And, yes, there’s a lot to be said for the old tools.
