Ah, memories. I have several phlox in my gardens, powdery mildew and all, for only one reason. That is the memory of my grandmother’s garden where the entire back section was phlox. I smell them and can be transported right back to being in the garden with her in her house dress and her apron with pockets to carry her shears. 🙂

Yes! Thank you! That’s absolutely part of it: the apron, the pockets, the “house dress” (how often do you hear of THAT now?) — do you also hear the sheets on the clothesline? Ah, the power of the garden!
