not in quiet white
as it should
but in rumbling roaring wind
through the ‘hood.
It’s late this year
this winterbirth
almost surprise
still prickles to the lungs
tingles to the ears
marshmallows to the eyes.

It certainly did! I love the magical quality of your photo, but the wind now is brutal. My extremeties aren’t acclimated yet, so I know I’m staying put today. Keep warm!

I’m trying to keep warm, but, as you note, it’s the extremities. My fingers are frozen — indoors! Very glad you liked the photo — I was out about 5:00 this morning with my camera, and my two robes just weren’t quite enough to withstand the wind. I could only hope that no one with a butterfly net would happen by.

Beautiful photo. Brave of you.

Thank you, Shirah! I don’t know if “brave” or “stupid” applies, but I was proud of myself either way! (See above!)
